Understanding anger in children

All the playful, conscious and connected ways you need to help your child through feelings of anger.

When children display anger and have outbursts at home, in school or anywhere else, it can be so hard as adults to know how to respond to them.

Should I punish them? Is this part of development? Why are they doing this? How do I keep my cool? It truly is one of the hardest emotions to manage and one of the most important for children to be able to express in a safe way. As a teacher, I often found myself very reactive to anger, wanting to shut it down immediately, scared other staff

would judge me if I didn’t and frustrated when my attempts to curb it weren’t working. I know how hard it can be so, I have created this programme for you to learn everything you need to know to help children with anger in a conscious, connected way. You will come away feeling confident and inspired to make changes that last.

I have drawn on my unique experience within this course.

As both a former teacher and a child and adolescent psychotherapist and play therapist over the last 16 years, I have experienced all sorts of challenging behaviours and have helped many children, parents and professionals.

My training in psychotherapy and play therapy means that the programme has a focus on understanding the brain and nervous system during angry outbursts along with child centred, playful ways to help children to express it. I really value boundary setting and know that boundaries are essential for children to feel safe, so a step by step on this is also provided.

This programme has over 2 hours of video content for you to enjoy, along with handouts, writing prompts, a Q&A and lifetime access.

*Lifetime access refers to the lifetime of the programme and not your own lifetime. This means I reserve the right to make changes/ remove the course if needed. If this happens you will have advanced warning. I launched the course in 2021 and my intention is for it to be around long term.

You will learn all about how to manage anger in the moment.

You’ll also learn how to pre-empt and pre-regulate children to help them to learn about anger outside of the moment. You will have handouts, a Q&A and loads of examples to help you grasp a new way of thinking about anger.

Taking in information is great but, without reflection in can get lost or forgotten. Throughout this programme I help you to become more conscious and connected to yourself and your child by giving you writing prompts so that you can explore topics more deeply. This is the key to transformation!
